🎶 Auditions & Festival Registration

Registration is now open for several GMEA audition and performance opportunities. Review the options below for deadlines, fees, important dates, and registration links.

🎶 Honor Band & All-State Band

Students may audition for District 12 Honor Band, GMEA All-State Band, or both.

Registration Deadline: Wednesday, September 30 at midnight

Audition Fees

  • Honor Band Only — $15
  • All-State Only — $25
  • All-State & Honor Band — $40

Students selected for Honor Band and/or All-State Band will be charged an additional GMEA acceptance fee and will be invoiced by LBBA after selection.

Important Dates

  • December 12 — First All-State & Honor Band Audition @ Kennesaw Mountain HS
  • January 9 — Second All-State Audition @ Union Grove HS (for students who advance)
  • February 4–6 — District 12 Honor Band @ North Cobb HS
  • March 4–6 — All-State Band @ The Classic Center in Athens

Auditioning on more than one instrument? A separate registration and payment must be submitted for each instrument.

🎷 All-State Jazz & District 12 Honor Jazz

Students may audition for GMEA All-State Jazz, District 12 Honor Jazz Band, or both.

Registration Deadline: Wednesday, September 9 at midnight

Audition Fees

  • District 12 Honor Jazz Only — $15
  • All-State Jazz Only — $25
  • All-State Jazz & District 12 Honor Jazz — $40

Important Dates

  • October 7 — First-Round All-State Jazz & District Honor Jazz Auditions @ Walton HS
  • November 9–13 — All-State Jazz Second-Round Recording Window (for students who advance)
  • January 28–30 — All-State Jazz Band @ The Classic Center in Athens
  • April 15–17 — District 12 Honor Jazz Band

Students who advance to the second round of All-State Jazz will complete a recorded audition and will be charged an additional recording fee. Details will be provided once available.

🎵 Solo & Ensemble Festival

Students may participate in the GMEA District 12 Solo & Ensemble Festival as a soloist or as part of an ensemble.

Registration Deadline: Tuesday, September 15 at midnight

Event Information

November 7 — GMEA District 12 Solo & Ensemble Festival @ Dickerson MS

Event times are expected to run approximately 9:00 AM–2:00 PM. Individual performance times will be provided once the schedule is finalized.

Registration Fees

  • Solo — $12 per student
  • Ensemble — $12 per ensemble

For ensembles: Only ONE member of the group should complete the registration and submit the $12 payment on behalf of the entire ensemble. Please do not submit a separate registration for each ensemble member.
